Aguinid Falls is a multi-tiered waterfalls from small to medium falls. The adventure going up to level 5 is a river trek; an upstream trek along Tangbo river. It’s fun and exciting. Going upstream is not difficult all, difficulty level is around between 4 and 5 but it’s getting hardier reaching the top of level 5 where it is very hard to get back down once you already at the top. This is the reason why there is no guide that is brave enough to get back down. The image above is the fifth level and on the left side of it is the rock wall climb going to the top and once on the top this is where you can see the hidden and true beauty of Aguinid falls.
I don’t have pictures at top of level 5 and until the exit point. This is because we have to rock wall climb with the waters and also to secure also my gadgets especially my dslr camera. Good thing is we have a companion with her daughter and the course is not advisable for children. So I live my gadgets with her. When we reach the top, I was saddened because I am not able to take photographs up there to share to the people planning to visit Aguinid Falls and what’s waiting up there.
The exit point is just a typical canal on the side of a Corn field. From the top, you can’t think that there is a hidden beauty or adventure down below that is called Aguinid Falls.
How to get there:
- Go to Cebu South Bus terminal then take a bus plying the route going to Samboan or Bato via Barili.
- Tell the bus collector that you are going to Aguinid Falls. This is falls is very famous in Cebu and in Samboan town.
- If you are going there with with your car, once you passed Samboan Town proper just drive continuously until you reach Brgy. Tangbo. the falls has a large sign along the highway on the left side. So you won’t able to lost or pass.
